With the summer transfer window counting down to its closure, Roma has revived its interest in Leao and is considering a loan swap deal involving Soule and the Portuguese forward to ease the financial burden of the transaction. According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com, Roma has placed Leao back on its transfer shortlist in recent hours. The outlet previously reported Roma's interest in AC Milan's forward as far back as late July.

The main obstacle to the deal remains Leao's high wages. However, a loan swap involving Soule and Leao could provide a solution for both clubs.
It should be noted that formal negotiations have not yet begun and this deal remains in the conceptual stage. Nevertheless, Calciomercato.com believes that if all parties can reach a breakthrough before the transfer window closes, this could become one of the most notable deals in Serie A this summer.
AC Milan's position is also crucial. Throughout the summer, the Rossoneri have insisted on a permanent sale of Leao or have accepted only a loan with a mandatory purchase clause. The club has reduced its asking price for Leao from an initial €60 million to around €45 million, while Galatasaray's previous offer of €35 million plus add-ons fell short of AC Milan's demands.
