On August 26th,, Bayern officially announced the sale of Palhinha to Benfica. In an interview with the club's official media, Eberl shared his thoughts on the transfer.

Eberl stated: "We openly discussed Palhinha's situation at Bayern and ultimately found a solution acceptable to everyone. He decided to return to his home country to continue his career. We thank him for his contributions during his time at Bayern and wish him all the best for the future."

Palhinha joined Bayern Munich from Fulham in the summer of 2023. In his first season with Bayern, he made 25 appearances and won the Bundesliga title with the team. Last season, he was on loan at Premier League side Tottenham.
