Stephan El Shaarawy is ready for a fresh start at Genoa. The new signing, donning the red and blue jersey, became the focus before the match against Como, and Genoa coach De Rossi also spoke about his first impressions after joining the team.

"I saw him again. We met last night after dinner because he was going for a medical examination," the coach said. That meeting also held special significance, reflecting the connection between the player, the city, and the fans. "I met his parents and brother, and I'm very happy he's here because it's a wonderful story," De Rossi added.

For the coach, El Shaarawy's return is more than just a technical reinforcement: "Bringing home a child of the fans, a child of this city, someone who loves these colors, is never a bad idea." "He has already undergone an initial physical examination; he's lean and has maintained his training status," the Genoa coach explained. However, three months without training with teammates will inevitably leave some catching up to do. The team's idea is to get him into usable condition as soon as possible. "He's a player who can help us a lot from the start, even if it's just for 10 to 15 minutes," the coach emphasized.

If the medical examination goes smoothly, Genoa's goal is even to get him onto the bench as soon as possible. "I hope to bring him to the Ferraris Stadium with us tomorrow." He also admitted that it might be too early to consider playing him now. "Even if we just bring him along, it's still a Genoese sitting on the bench." The conversation then turned to the match itself, with Como considered one of the strong teams in the league. "We expect it to be a tough game, but all teams can be beaten," De Rossi conveyed this message to the entire team.
