Eric Quill hailed his FC Dallas side's never-say-die attitude and said they "find a way" to get a result ahead of travelling to Minnesota United in MLS.

Dallas found themselves 2-0 down inside 20 minutes against Sporting Kansas City last time out but came from behind before snatching a dramatic 4-3 win thanks to Petar Musa's last-gasp penalty.

It was Dallas' first home game since May, and they marked it with a victory, but they now return to the road, having lost just two games in their run of nine straight away matches.

Quill's side are fourth in the Western Conference, just six points behind leaders Vancouver Whitecaps – having played a game more – and he highlighted how important Dallas' resilience is this season.

"We spotted them two goals," Quill said after the Sporting KC win.

"To come back, after being away from home, to have that happen in the first 10 minutes was tough to take and swallow.

"They keep proving themselves again and again that they're never going to turn over and die. They're going to roll their sleeves up and find a way."

As for Minnesota, they were on the end of a 5-4 thriller, going down to the Portland Timbers over the weekend, leaving them 11th in the West, one point off the playoffs.

It was yet another defeat for the Loons, who have won just one of their last 12 MLS matches and have conceded 10 goals in their last four league games.

And head coach Cameron Knowles noted how important it is for them to regain their defensive strength soon.

"We've shown we can be a good defending team, and can do well when we're defending deep, and how well we can do while pressing," he said.

"But sometimes when we get caught in between, that's where we give up chances. We have to get back to being a really solid team.

"It's encouraging that we're scoring goals, but defending has been our hallmark, and we need to get back to that."

Minnesota United – Marcus Caldeira

Marcus Caldeira scored a brace for Minnesota in their dramatic loss to Portland, and he has been a bright spark for the Loons since moving up to the first team.

He now has four goals and three assists in his eight first-team matches and will be hoping to add to that tally against Dallas.

FC Dallas – Petar Musa

Musa is the joint-top scorer in MLS this season, having netted 18 goals (level with Lionel Messi) after his brace against Sporting KC snatched the late win.

He also registered his fourth assist of the campaign in that match, doing so with the only chance he created.

MATCH PREDICTION: MINNESOTA UNITED WIN

Minnesota have got the better of Dallas of late, going unbeaten in the last three MLS matches between the two sides.

A win for Dallas would be their first against Minnesota in the league since June 2024, though the recent contests have been tight, with the Loons only outscoring them 3-1 in that time.

Minnesota have won just one of their last 12 MLS matches, though – a 5-1 thrashing of the San Jose Earthquakes – while they have not won at home since April 18.

Dallas have lost just one of their last six league outings (W3 D2), but that defeat did come on the road against the Vancouver Whitecaps (5-0).
