John McGinn, named Player of the Match after scoring one goal with 2 shots on target and 1 dribble, set the tone alongside Emiliano Buendía and Nicolas Jackson, who also found the net. Hugo Vetlesen and Nicolò Tresoldi replied for Club Brugge, but Villa held on for all three points.
