His time at Manchester City has been less successful: in the 2024-25 season, he played only 821 minutes in the Premier League, contributing 1 goal and 1 assist—a modest record for a Brazilian attacking winger.

According to valuations from Football Benchmark and Transfermarkt, his market value had dropped to €40 million. Nevertheless, Tottenham Hotspur paid €93 million for him, including performance-related bonuses. The inflated spending by English clubs remains a defining feature of the transfer market, and this summer's window has reinforced that trend.

Germany generated a surplus of €44 million and France €736 million.
