According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus' total transfer expenditure this summer (including mandatory buyouts) has reached 138 million euros, leading Serie A.

The officially announced transfers confirm Juventus' activity: the total transfer cost is 96.2 million euros, and if the buyout of Openda (planned last year and officially executed in April this year, part of the 2026/27 season's transfer investment) is included, the total rises to 138.5 million euros. It should be noted that this only includes fixed transfer fees, excluding bonuses. In addition, the club has recovered approximately 37.7 million euros through sales and loans, with a net transfer expenditure of about 100 million euros.
Despite the large book expenditure, Juventus' actual financial burden has not increased. The completed transfers are expected to add about 50 million euros in costs in the 2026-27 season. For example, the arrival of Muani, including transfer fee depreciation and pre-tax annual salary calculation, will incur an annual expenditure of about 18 million euros.
At the same time, player sales and contract adjustments have saved approximately 60 million euros in costs. Among them, after Vlahovic left when his contract expired, he helped Juventus free up about 40 million euros; Kostic's departure and some salary amortization adjustments after renewals saved another 10 million euros.
Openda is a typical example illustrating this financial logic. In the 2026-27 season, after Juventus officially buys out Openda, it will increase costs by about 7 million euros, which is mainly the difference between last year's loan fee and future transfer fee depreciation. However, after Openda is loaned to Olympique Lyonnais, Juventus will save about 7.4 million euros in pre-tax annual salary and also receive 3.5 million euros in loan income.
Overall, the current cost of the Juventus first team is actually reduced by about 10 million euros compared to before.
Juventus' next goal is to further reduce the total cost by 5-10% (about 30 million euros). Missing out on the Champions League will lead to a reduction in revenue of 55-60 million euros, so the club plans to sell players like Thuram and Cambiaso, whose book values are lower than market values, to obtain significant capital gains to fill the gap. The summer transfer window is not yet closed, and Juventus' squad adjustments are still ongoing.
