According to L'Équipe, Dayot Upamecano has chosen to join Sunderland, but the Premier League club has not yet reached an agreement with Toulouse.

The British club's management recently submitted a fourth offer, totaling approximately 33 million euros including add-ons, but this proposal was rejected by Toulouse, who are unwilling to let go of the left-back.

This offer would have made the 20-year-old Upamecano the most expensive outgoing player in Toulouse's history, which was a prerequisite for the Toulouse hierarchy to accept the transfer. This rejection has frustrated Sunderland, who were determined to sign the young French international and believed their offer was in line with market value. It is understood that Toulouse's asking price is 35 million euros.
