Manchester United's 0-2 away defeat to Hull City shows that Carrick still has much work to do with the team. He revitalized the squad after taking over last season from former manager Ruben Amorim.

Despite dominating possession and attempting 21 shots, Manchester United managed only 5 shots on target and failed to score.
The Red Devils have lost four of their last seven Premier League matches. Such a defeat will increase concerns among fans heading into the new season.
York told Reviant that Carrick's start as manager has been poor, and fans will not be patient with him because they expect results.
"Carrick's honeymoon period is over. He deserved this opportunity, and he fulfilled the task entrusted to him, taking us into the top four quite comfortably.
"From that perspective, he deserves a chance. Now it's time for him to step up and prove he's a capable coach. This season will show whether he has what it takes to make that next step."
Speaking about Manchester United's position, he continued: "Manchester United have made a terrible start to the season. We were very optimistic going in because we felt the team finished well last season and secured Champions League qualification.
"In the first match, we faced a strong opponent in Hull City, and history suggests Manchester United usually handle such games well, but after just one match, we're already under pressure."
Last season, Manchester United won 13 of their 19 home league games but only 7 away games, drawing 8 and losing 4. The latest away defeat to Hull City means they have now failed to score in the opening match of two consecutive Premier League seasons.
