According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona club president Laporta has contacted the family of a 17-year-old Barcelona fan who was subjected to police force in Elche and expressed his support. The club is willing to provide legal support if the family wishes to pursue legal action.

Before last Sunday's match between Elche and Barcelona, a young Barcelona fan carrying a Catalan independence flag (estelada) was stopped by police. The police confiscated his flag and subsequently used violence against him.

Barcelona subsequently issued a statement condemning the incident and described the police's actions as disproportionate force used against club members and fans.

According to La Vanguardia, Laporta has contacted the father of the 17-year-old fan. Both father and son are Barcelona members, and Laporta expressed his support, stating that the club is willing to assist if the family decides to pursue legal action.

Barcelona had already clearly expressed its support for this fan in its official statement and demanded an explanation from relevant authorities regarding the incident. The club stated it is waiting for relevant departments to explain what happened and reserves the right to take necessary action to protect the rights and interests of its members and fans, as well as freedom of expression.

Barcelona also criticized the police's confiscation of the Catalan independence flag. The club believes that such flags are legitimate democratic symbols and should not be considered symbols inciting hatred or violence.

Beyond Barcelona, political organizations including the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) and Junts per Catalunya have also demanded an explanation from the Interior Ministry regarding this matter.

The police have launched an investigation to review the enforcement procedures used and to determine whether relevant actions complied with regulations. The investigation was initiated at the request of Carlos Prieto Gómez, a representative of the Catalan government.
