This Thursday, after the transfer market closes, the Barcelona board will hold its regular meeting to decide on matters such as the date of the 2026-27 Ordinary General Assembly of Members. According to Mundo Deportivo, the most likely date is Sunday, September 20, as the first team will visit Sevilla on Saturday, September 19, at 9 p.m. for a La Liga match.

Due to logistical arrangements, member convenience, and economic costs, the board, chaired by Laporta, ultimately abandoned the idea of holding an extraordinary meeting at the end of August, as it would be too close to the Ordinary General Assembly, which usually takes place in mid-October each year. Barcelona advanced the assembly by one month to gain time to submit for member approval an application to increase the Goldman Sachs loan facility once again to continue funding the "Espai Barça" project, with an amount of up to 500 million euros.

The assembly will also review and approve the settlement for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This fiscal year will set a historical record, exceeding the previous fiscal year's revenue of 994 million euros and surpassing the budgeted 1.075 billion euros, achieving a surplus. Member representatives will also vote on the budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, which will exceed the 1.1 billion euro mark, as the entire season is expected to be played at Spotify Camp Nou with increased stadium capacity in the first half of 2027.

Barcelona sent out the assembly notice 15 days in advance, and the club has been verifying and confirming accounts with auditors Crowe Global in recent weeks to have everything ready before September 20.

The agenda for this assembly will be substantial. Members will also need to approve the cooperation agreement with UAE-based Ohana Development, which will operate the Barcelona brand through a high-end residential project, generating an annual return of approximately 10 million euros. Simultaneously, they will need to confirm the extension of the sponsorship contract with Spotify, with men's and women's football kit sponsorship continuing until 2030 and Camp Nou naming rights extended until 2034. This cooperation was announced on October 17 last year, just two days before the 2025 Ordinary General Assembly.

In addition, member representatives will formally ratify Rafa Yuste, Josep Cubells, Alfons Castro, Josep Ignasi Macià, Àngel Riudalbàs, Joan Soler, and Xisco Puyol as board members. When Joan Laporta and nine other directors resigned on February 9 to prepare for the elections, these seven remained at the forefront of the club's management. After Laporta was elected, his campaign team members became official directors following their victory on March 15 and formally took office on July 1.
