Following Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Aston Villa, Saka, who scored the decisive goal, gave a post-match interview to Sky Sports.

Presenter: I think Bukayo Saka might enjoy our analysis of that goal. Wow… he's here and ready for an interview. (laughs) Bukayo, over to you. How difficult was tonight's match?

Saka: Very difficult. To be honest, it's not easy coming here and playing, and we knew that before the match. They really posed a lot of difficulties for us, so getting the win makes it feel even better.

In what specific ways did they make it difficult for you tonight?

I think it was mainly their defensive approach; their formation was very compact. Additionally, their defensive line was pushed very high, catching us offside several times, so we had to adjust. It's quite different from what we faced last week, and of course we knew that going in, but we couldn't execute our attacking plays as smoothly as we did last week.

At that point, did you feel that one goal might be enough?

Usually, one goal is enough for us because our defence is very solid. However, once we scored the first goal, I felt the match really opened up, and we had chances to score a second. There were also two situations where we thought we deserved penalties, but in the end we didn't get them. Regardless, we still wanted to keep pushing for that second goal.

Carragher: Bukayo, before you arrived, we had just analysed your goal, and I'm sure you heard it. I think it was a fantastic finish. What particularly impressed me is that Arteta seems to give your full-backs, Ben White and Calafiori, a lot of freedom. Sometimes they move infield, sometimes they move wide. How do you work on these combinations in training? Especially the link-up play with the wing-backs, including yourself.

We work a lot in that area, and that's the kind of attacking play I just mentioned. Calafiori, White, and our other full-backs all have the ability to provide us with great support. Especially for us wingers, when the match is difficult and the opposition's defence is compact, with two defenders on us, their movements and impact can help us find space. We can find them, and they're always composed when they get into the box. Calafiori did exactly that again tonight for my goal.

Henry: Bukayo, first of all, congratulations. I'm still waiting for you to score 15 and assist 15 in a season, but that's another story. (laughs) What I want to say is, we'll discuss tactics and attacking patterns, but there's one thing that's very clear, which people might not often mention. Of course, we'll talk about it. Everyone always praises your defence, and that's true. But your team's movement throughout the match was excellent. Did Arteta tell you that sometimes you can move freely, but the moment you lose the ball, everyone must immediately run back?

Yes. He actually praised us for that in the dressing room. As I said, tonight we didn't have our best form with the ball, but without it, we showed particularly well. The moment we lose the ball, we immediately run back because we know they want to attack us on the counter, and we know that's where they're most dangerous. So everyone worked very hard tonight, and that helped us keep a clean sheet and made our overall defence better.

Presenter: Why can't we talk about 15 goals and 15 assists now?

Henry: You know, we all know Bukayo does a lot of work off the ball. I feel that when Ben White is right next to him, and Calafiori is there too – I'm not criticising anyone else, I'm just saying they have that understanding – it could free up a bit more space for him.

Presenter: But you've already scored twice, Bukayo. You've scored in two consecutive Premier League matches, which I think is your first time doing that in nearly two years. So, what are your thoughts about your goals for this season now?

I'll keep my goals to myself, everyone. (laughs) But one thing is clear: every week I want to step up and try to decide the match, because I feel that's what I need to do for the team, and that's my mentality.
