Bologna FC officially announced that the team has signed Belgian forward Samuel Mbangula on loan from Werder Bremen until June 30, 2027, with an option to buy.

Samuel Mbangula, born in 2004, is the 7th Belgian player in Bologna's history. He primarily plays as a winger, possessing excellent speed, individual technique, and strong one-on-one capabilities.

Mbangula was born in Brussels and initially trained in the Club Brugge youth system before joining Anderlecht. In the summer of 2020, he joined the Juventus youth academy, where he received important early-stage professional football training and gradually emerged through the Juventus U17 and youth teams.

While playing for Juventus youth teams, Mbangula made 57 appearances, contributing 12 goals and 5 assists, and also participated in 7 UEFA Youth League matches.

In the 2023-24 season, Mbangula officially entered professional football with Juventus Next Gen. He made 25 appearances that season, continuing to accumulate professional experience. Due to his excellent performance, he was promoted to Juventus' first team.

On August 19, 2024, Mbangula made his Juventus first team debut and Serie A debut in a match against Como, scoring in the 23rd minute.

In the 2024-25 season, Mbangula made 32 appearances for Juventus in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists, while also participating in the UEFA Champions League.

In the summer of 2025, Mbangula transferred to Werder Bremen, beginning his Bundesliga career. In his first season with Bremen, he made 26 league appearances, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists, demonstrating strong attacking ability, especially on the left wing.

At the national team level, Mbangula has represented Belgium's U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20, and U21 youth teams. In November 2024, he received his first call-up to the Belgian senior national team.

After joining Bologna, Mbangula will begin a new phase of his professional career.
