Reece James participated in a fan Q&A with Sky Sports, answering questions about the impression Enzo Fernández left on him, the team's new signings, his experiences at the World Cup, and what it means to be Chelsea captain. He also discussed his personal interests, fashion sense, and ambitions for the season.

Next question: if you were an F1 driver, or if Lewis Hamilton were a footballer, who would perform better?

I think it would be me... Oh, I don't know. But I definitely drive more often than he plays football.

So that's you then.

I'd probably still pick myself because I don't know how often he plays football. You know what I mean?

Have you seen videos of him playing football?

I don't think so.

There was a video once of him going shoulder-to-shoulder with Carragher, and Carragher just knocked him aside (laughs).

He probably wouldn't want me to bring that up. But I drive every day. Of course, it's not the same as driving an F1 car, but at least I do drive regularly.

I really like the relationship you two have, even though you're in completely different fields. You're also a captain, so how important are his leadership style and experience to what you're doing now as captain?

I think our roles are obviously different. He's more involved in an individual Sport. However, he has a lot of experience and has been through many ups and downs. So even though we're in different sports, there are still a lot of parallels.

When you put on the captain's armband, do you start to observe other people's leadership styles more, including how they interact and work with others?

Yes. I think one thing many people might not truly realize is that there's no fixed template for leadership, you know what I mean?

Everyone has a different leadership style and a different way of doing things. So of course, I try to learn from others, including more experienced players and more experienced athletes in other sports. But I still absorb what I learn and then adapt it in my own way.

Excellent. What is the biggest difference between Chelsea's academy and other clubs' academies?

We produce top players. I'm not really sure what goes on at other clubs, nor do I know about their infrastructure and systems. But over the past 15 years, we've developed many elite-level players. However, to truly make it out of the academy also requires a lot of luck. You need to work hard, you need a bit of luck, and you also need to keep your head down and focus on your own work and stay concentrated. If you do all that, anything can happen.

Great. Who will be number one on your Spotify Wrapped this year?

Probably Rod Wave.

I'm with you on that. What's the best thing about being Chelsea captain?

Perhaps it's realizing my childhood dream. It's something I've wanted to do since I was six years old, and now I'm experiencing it firsthand, living this life every day. It makes me very happy and very proud.

Great. What's the biggest lesson football has taught you?

You get knocked down, then knocked down again, and knocked down again, but you have to get back up.

Excellent. I like that answer. What are your goals for this season?

I have many goals, but obviously, I hope by the end of the season we can win the championship.
