According to unitedinfocus, INEOS has adopted a precise rebuilding strategy since taking over Manchester United, but Scholes believes the team's unusual order of rebuilding the midfield first and then the defense is misguided.

Scholes believes that Manchester United's rebuilding order is completely wrong, prioritizing positions that should come later. He said on the podcast: "It seems like they only started rebuilding the midfield this year, and it feels like the defense might be next year. I'm not sure if that's the right approach, but right now the team's defense is struggling. With a lineup like that, you're bound to concede goals.

"If you were given a blank check to build a team from scratch, wouldn't you start with the defense?

"Exactly. That's why we think it's abnormal, because that's normally how it's done. You build the system from the back four, just like Arsenal did. Arsenal started that way three or four years ago."
