Bruno Guimaraes failed to arrive at La Manga to meet up with his Newcastle United team-mates at their pre-season training base as planned on Sunday.

The Newcastle captain was due to report in Spain on Sunday night, but failed to show up.

However, Sky Sports News understands that he's still expected to travel and meet up with the group, and he is on his way. Newcastle are fairly relaxed about the situation.

Guimaraes told Newcastle bosses last month he wanted to move to Arsenal.

New boss Matthias Jaissle - who is set to replace Eddie Howe - is at La Manga with his new squad and wants to meet the captain.
