According to Tycsports, the Premier League will implement three measures this season to improve the transparency of referee decisions, including publishing the full basis for controversial decision votes, the full explanation from the referee, and audio of the referee's communication with players.

The first change relates to the expert panel responsible for evaluating each matchday. Since the 2022/23 season, three former players and coaches, along with Premier League and referee representatives, have met after each round to vote on whether controversial decisions were correct. Previously, only the final outcome was disclosed. From now on, the full rationale behind the vote will also be made public, which is important for those who want to understand the standards for each decision.
The second change directly affects the Premier League's official social media accounts. In the past, those accounts would only post event summaries when VAR intervened. This season, the corresponding referee's explanation will also be included.
The third is the publication of audio from referee-player interactions on the field, offering a new window into conversations during the most intense moments of each match.
These measures come after a crisis of confidence. Two years ago, Wolves directly called for the abolition of VAR and initiated a vote among Premier League clubs. Wolves were the only team to vote in favor of abolishing VAR, but this incident forced the Premier League to commit to specific improvements in decision-making processes and communication. These three changes now being introduced are a response to that commitment.
