The Athletic reporter David Ornstein reports that Tottenham Hotspur are trying to sign Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City in a package deal.

David Ornstein has revealed that at present Tottenham are pushing ahead with deals as they plan to sign Savinho and Marmoush from Manchester City. Nothing has been finalized yet, but talks between Tottenham and Manchester City are making progress.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Tottenham are making progress in a deal for Savinho, while Marmoush is also believed to be among the players who could leave Manchester City this summer.

In Sunday's Community Shield final, a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, Savinho was not included in Manchester City head coach Maresca's 21-man squad, while 27-year-old Marmoush came on as a substitute for Haaland in the second half.

If the deal for Savinho and Marmoush goes through, Tottenham's busy summer recruitment drive will add another new arrival. They have already spent £229.5 million to sign Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Jan van Hecke.

Tottenham pursued Savinho as early as last summer. The Athletic reported in August 2025 that they had discussed a transfer package worth around €50 million with Manchester City, but City were not willing to sell the Brazilian at the time. In early October, after the summer window had closed, Savinho signed a new contract with the club running until 2031.

However, Savinho has still played only a peripheral role at Manchester City, making just seven starts in the Premier League last season. Guardiola's side ultimately finished as league runners-up and won both domestic cups.

The Brazilian international originally joined Manchester City from French side Troyes for €40 million. During the 2023/24 season, he was loaned to La Liga club Girona, where he contributed 11 goals and 10 assists, helping the team finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. Both Troyes and Girona are owned by City Football Group.

Marmoush made 8 Premier League starts last season, scoring 8 goals in 36 appearances across the campaign. He then represented Egypt at the World Cup and helped the team reach the round of 16. In January 2025, after scoring 37 goals in 67 appearances across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt, he transferred to Manchester City.

In addition to signing Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Van Hecke, Tottenham have also brought in defenders Senesi and Robertson, as well as goalkeeper Dubravka, on free transfers.
