According to Bild, Hoffenheim striker Asllani is still on Borussia Dortmund's transfer list. Before the transfer window closes at 8 PM on September 1, a potential deal could still heat up again if certain conditions are met.

Why has Borussia Dortmund not given up on Asllani?

From a long-term planning perspective, Borussia Dortmund continues to monitor the Kosovan striker. Neither the team's previous transfer operations nor Asllani's failure to pass the medical examination for league rivals Leipzig have shaken Borussia Dortmund's interest in him. One important reason is that Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Burki, still highly appreciates Asllani's abilities. Burki previously worked with Asllani at Ebersberg, and they had a successful collaboration back then.

Meanwhile, the Borussia Dortmund management, led by sporting director Lars Ricken, is also aware that Asllani, currently valued at around 35 million euros, still has significant potential for appreciation. In the medium term, he is also seen as a potential successor to star striker Guirassy. One possible approach is for Borussia Dortmund to sign Asllani on a "loan with an obligatory purchase clause." According to Bild, Asllani himself is not uninterested in joining Borussia Dortmund.

If he eventually leaves, Borussia Dortmund will have to find an immediate replacement.
