According to Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold, Brentford fans chanted at Tottenham: “Thomas Frank is laughing at you.”

In the summer of 2024, Brentford manager Thomas Frank joined Tottenham, but he was sacked midway through the season due to poor results. Before the start of the current season, Tottenham made several significant signings in the transfer market, but they still suffered a 0-3 defeat to Brentford in their opening match.
