As the summer transfer window approaches its closing deadline, Roma have renewed their interest in Rafael Leao and are considering a loan swap involving Matías Soulé to bring the Milan forward to the Giallorossi while easing the deal’s financial burden. According to Calciomercato.com, Roma have recently re-listed Leao as a transfer target. The outlet previously reported Roma’s interest in the Milan forward in late July.

The main obstacle to the deal remains Leao's substantial wages. However, a loan swap involving both Soulé and Leao could potentially provide a solution for both clubs.
Formal negotiations have not yet commenced, and the deal remains speculative at this stage. However, Calciomercato.com believes that if all parties can reach an agreement before the transfer window closes, it could become one of the most significant deals in Serie A this summer.
Milan's position is also crucial. Throughout the summer, the Rossoneri have insisted on either a permanent sale of Leao or an obligation to buy following a paid loan deal. The club has reduced its asking price for Leao from an initial €60 million to approximately €45 million, while Galatasaray's previous offer of €35 million plus add-ons fell short of Milan's valuation.
