According to Sport, Celta de Vigo defender Javi Rodríguez has entered Paris Saint-Germain's radar.

Manager Claudio Giráldez hopes not to lose a key player from his squad in the final five days before the transfer window closes.
Previously, Giráldez blocked Javi Rueda's move to Nottingham Forest at the last minute, a deal in which Real Madrid would have received half of the transfer fee. However, if a team makes an offer that is "beneficial for all parties" for an important player in the coming days and helps Celta de Vigo balance their books, Giráldez may find it difficult to prevent the player from leaving.
Although Celta de Vigo has not yet completed the major sales it had planned, many players in the squad continue to attract market attention. Rodríguez, Román, Williot Swedberg, Carreira, and Ilaix Moriba are among the players with higher market value being pursued.
Celta de Vigo originally planned to sell Ilaix Moriba this summer to recoup last summer's investment, cover an estimated €10 million financial shortfall for this season, and reduce one of the team's highest salaries. However, Moriba did not generate the market interest Celta de Vigo expected. Although some teams made inquiries, none ultimately submitted a formal offer, and the few offers Celta de Vigo received fell far short of the club's expectations.
Compared to Moriba, Javi Rodríguez's situation is also attracting significant attention. The 23-year-old Poio-born defender performed well last season, drawing the attention of several top European clubs. He had previously been registered with Celta de Vigo B but has already made 89 appearances for the first team, including 70 in La Liga, 12 in the Europa League, and 7 in the Copa del Rey.
Additionally, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente called up this Celta de Vigo academy product to the Spanish national team. Spain subsequently won the World Cup, which further raised Javi Rodríguez's international profile.
Currently, several top clubs are monitoring his situation, with Paris Saint-Germain being the most active. PSG's sporting advisor Luis Campos is very familiar with Javi Rodríguez, and manager Luis Enrique also greatly admires the player.
Paris Saint-Germain has inquired about Javi Rodríguez, who primarily plays as a center-back but can also operate as a right-back. However, these are currently only preliminary contacts. It is believed that if PSG genuinely intends to sign him this summer, they would likely have already taken further steps, as Paris Saint-Germain is not a club overly concerned about transfer fees.
In addition to Paris Saint-Germain, several traditional Premier League clubs have also inquired about Javi Rodríguez in recent weeks. Everton, Fulham, and Newcastle United are closely monitoring his situation.
Newcastle United, owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), possesses one of the strongest financial capabilities in the Premier League. Therefore, in the final days before the transfer window closes, the possibility of these clubs making substantial offers cannot be ruled out. Javi Rodríguez's €40 million release clause means that both Celta de Vigo and the player himself may soon face a decision on whether to accept an offer.
