Raúl Asencio has been acquitted in the leaked video case, while three former Real Madrid youth players received one-year prison sentences for child sexual abuse material offences, according to Cadena SER.

Former Real Madrid youth players Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García were sentenced to one year in prison for a sexual video filmed in Gran Canaria in 2023. Real Madrid first-team defender Raúl Asencio was acquitted.

The final agreement on the verdict was reached between all parties after the two young women who appeared in the video confirmed their forgiveness for the four players. One of the women was only 16 at the time.

The victims' forgiveness invalidated the sole charge against Raúl Asencio, which was for disclosing secrets—he had shown the video, which was sent to him by the other defendants, to a third party, knowing it was recorded without the complainants' consent. The victims' forgiveness also prompted the prosecution to agree to apply mitigating circumstances to the more serious charge of child sexual abuse material offences against his three former teammates.

Before reaching the plea agreement, the prosecution had sought a sentence of four years and seven months for Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García, and two and a half years for Raúl Asencio.

Raúl Asencio fined for drink-driving

The day before this decision was announced, another off-field matter involving Raúl Asencio came to light. The Real Madrid player was fined for drink-driving in Gran Canaria. On August 16, he registered 0.90 mg/L in a breath test in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, nearly four times the legal limit.

According to Cadena SER, the player admitted to the violation three days after the traffic check. Raúl Asencio was fined 120 euros per day for four months, totalling 14,400 euros. Additionally, his driving licence was suspended for eight months.

Real Madrid coach José Mourinho also commented on the situation. At a press conference on Thursday, he said: "A Real Madrid player is a Real Madrid player 24 hours a day. What you do off the pitch can damage your reputation and the club's reputation. I am not happy. Everyone makes mistakes, but repeated mistakes are another matter."
