Manchester City's new signings have all come into the club with a fierce desire to win titles, so says Ruben Dias.

It has been a summer of change at Man City, with Pep Guardiola bringing the curtain down on his trophy-laden, 10-year spell in charge.

Stalwarts Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Rodri have all left, along with Manuel Akanji, who spent last season on loan at Inter, while fringe players Omar Marmoush, Savinho, Tijjani Reijnders, Nico Gonzalez and James Trafford have also headed for pastures new.

Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Allan, Iliman Ndiaye and Enzo Fernandez have come in to bolster Enzo Maresca's squad.

But despite the upheaval, Dias does not doubt City's will to win.

"So many people have left and so many winners have left, and now new people have joined with a lot of ambition and people that are desperate to win and that is also what makes the club keep on going," Dias told the Football Interview, as quoted by BBC Sport.

"Others, Enzo included, that have been here and have won so much here and can very clearly point the way of how to do it and the things that are the most important and undeniable.

"But then as well, [there is the] ambition from us that are here and still want to be here and keep on winning.

"They are joining and full of ambition and with all the dreams in the world. The mix of these makes it work."

Dias became an instant hit at City after joining from Benfica in 2020.

The 29-year-old has tallied up 260 appearances for City, and Dias is revelling in his role as one of City's leaders to spearhead the new era.

"I am 29, I am going to be 30 next year but I am excited about all of this and all the things with the club, the new manager, new players, the new challenge, guys that I was so close with leaving," he added.

"It's the circle of life, it is just how things are. I am appreciative of all of it. I'm appreciative of the memories I have with all the ones that left and I'm excited about the memories I'm going to make with the ones that have just arrived.

"I am still very ambitious. I am excited. I think excited is the word."

City head to Old Trafford on Sunday for the first Manchester derby of the season.

They have won just one of their last four Premier League games against Manchester United (D1 L2), this after winning five of their six beforehand (L1).

City are looking to win each of their opening four games to a Premier League campaign for the seventh time, which would be the outright most of any side (Chelsea also six). They have gone on to win the league on just two of the previous six occasions they’ve won their first four in the competition (2011-12 and 2023-24).
