After Lazio's shocking elimination by Mantova in the first round of the Coppa Italia, tensions between the club and supporters have escalated further. Following the humiliating 0-2 defeat, Lazio fans have not only continued boycotting home matches but have once again targeted club president Lotito, calling him a "dictator" and bluntly declaring: "Everything is getting worse."

Over the past few months, dissatisfied with Lotito's management of the club, Lazio fans have organized continuous protests, refusing to attend Stadio Olimpico to support the team. Initially, some season ticket holders chose to boycott their seats as a form of protest; this season, an increasing number of fans have decided not to renew their season tickets.
The atmosphere at Lazio's first official match of the new season confirmed the impact of the fan boycott. In the Coppa Italia match against Mantova, only 5,528 spectators attended Stadio Olimpico, with over 2,000 of them being Mantova supporters from the away section. Adding insult to injury, some spectators in the "home stands" were actually rival Roma supporters who came only to record mocking videos of Lazio.
After the match, a group of Lazio ultras released a public statement, harshly criticizing club president Lotito, manager Gattuso, and new signing Frattesi.
The fan group declared: "What is our current situation? The answer is very clear – it is getting worse. We lost to Mantova and were eliminated from the Coppa Italia, a trophy we once valued highly."
They then recounted recent protest actions: "Starting from June 5, we announced a series of decisions. On July 2, 30,000 people took to the streets in protest."
The fan group also expressed displeasure with new signing Frattesi. Frattesi has previously publicly acknowledged being a Roma supporter, which became a major reason why some Lazio fans oppose him.
The statement read: "We have always welcomed new players wearing the Lazio shirt, especially those from our youth academy. But nothing can deviate from our core demands."
"After such a shameful defeat, we must remember one thing: we are dealing with a dictator. He refuses to accept failure and has not realized that he has reached a dead end."
Lazio fans emphasized that their primary concern is not new signings or short-term results, but the future direction of the club.
"We don't need new players; we need new owners. Promises to build a new stadium cannot change our minds, especially when we oppose the plan to divide the Curva Nord into two sections. We want to regain our freedom, and we will fight for it to the end."
The fan group also reiterated their previous demands: "We made the most basic request – remove Roma supporters from Lazio. But we couldn't even achieve that. We see no change, nor do we see the club genuinely willing to listen to the fans' voice."
Regarding new head coach Gattuso, the fans expressed their support: "Welcome to Lazio, Mr. Gattuso. You are carrying a huge responsibility. We will support you as we have supported your predecessor."
But they also warned certain players on the team: "For those who are unworthy of wearing the Lazio shirt in every match, unwilling to give their all, and lacking respect for the club's history, our position is crystal clear – either show the fighting spirit and give everything, or leave Lazio."
"Excuses are meaningless. After losing to Mantova, you've had your last chance."
Finally, the Lazio ultras called on fans not to be provoked by external factors and declared that they would continue supporting the team even if facing restrictions on away matches.
"Don't fall into the trap of provocation. Some people at Formello (Lazio's training ground) may hope that we will return to Stadio Olimpico because we are banned from away matches, but they are mistaken."
"Wherever you go, you will see us in the away stands of stadiums across Italy. If official away trips are cancelled, we will turn our journeys to cities with Lazio matches into 'cultural trips,' but we will still be there to support the team."
