Gary Neville believes that if Arsenal, as the reigning Premier League champions, can sign Alvarez in the final stages of the transfer window, they will have a chance to go further and challenge for the Champions League title.

However, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes Arsenal's attack still needs "a bit of magic," and he thinks Atletico Madrid striker Alvarez is the person who can bring about that change.

Gary Neville believes Arsenal should sound out Atletico Madrid's intentions, in an effort to take another step forward.

Gary Neville said: "Look at the squad Arteta has built. If he adds another striker, if they can somehow sign Alvarez, this place will be absolutely ignited because you will have a world-class striker, plus those world-class defenders and midfielders."

"Then, they won't just win the Premier League; they will go further and win the Champions League. The next 10 days are crucial. Their attack needs a bit of magic, someone who can decide games even when the team isn't playing well."
