De Bruyne: Conte Only Talks Football, Allegri More Relaxed and Cares About Personal Relationships

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne discussed his experiences with different managers in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, comparing his current coach Allegri with his former Napoli manager Conte.

Is there friction between you and Conte?

"That's normal, it's not a big issue: you can't get along with everyone in your career, and that's fine. I'm not the only one; sometimes people have different views on football. It's all normal."

Have you noticed differences between Allegri and Conte?

"Conte is very strict, more focused on professional relationships. Football, football, and football. He only thinks about football. There's no personal relationship between him and the players. Allegri is a bit more relaxed, more casual. From what I've seen so far, he's more focused on building personal relationships with the players. Every coach is different, and I've worked with many different coaches."

Are you enjoying playing now?

"I also enjoyed playing last year: I want to enjoy life and also enjoy some final years of my career. If I wasn't enjoying it, I would stop, and I'd be very happy doing something else. I don't play for money or anything, just because I want to play and because it makes me happy. That's the only reason. But I still hear a lot of nonsense..."

Are you pleased with the new project and new manager?

"I've only been here for 20 days, and everything has changed. I don't want to draw conclusions in such a short time. But I'll say we've had a good start, and I myself feel good, which is why I played right away."
