On August 28th, Bayern Munich will play their first Bundesliga home match of the new season against Stuttgart. In the first part of the pre-match press conference, Kompany discussed his expectations for the new season, Musiala's situation, and his thoughts on Eberl's contract extension.

Although you are still a relatively young coach in the Bundesliga, you are now considered an "old hand." This is your third season as a coach, and with your accumulated rich experience, do you still feel excited or nervous before the start of the season? How do you feel about the first match?
The feeling is exactly the same as when I first started coaching. I always firmly believe that in the end, we will definitely achieve success. But at the same time, I also know that nothing is set in stone in football; everything starts from scratch.
In my mind, all past championships are reset to zero, and I must prove myself anew. For me, this is not pressure but a powerful motivation, from which I draw a lot of energy.
Tomorrow's match against Stuttgart will undoubtedly be tough. A new season means new opportunities. We must meticulously refine our pre-season preparations down to every detail. I am incredibly excited for the new season to begin.
What are your thoughts on this season's title race? Given the team's strong dominance last season, is there still any suspense about winning the title? What do you think of competitors like Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig, Leverkusen, and Stuttgart, and what are your impressions of them?
As I just said, everything is back to square one, at least in my mind. The allocation of first, second, third, and fourth place is not for me to decide in advance. My only wish is for the team to continue its strong performance from last season and strive for even greater improvement.
We will see Stuttgart's strength firsthand this Friday, but I can already assert that Borussia Dortmund is strong, and many competitors from last season have improved their consistency. The championship battle is not just about direct confrontations between us and the strong teams.
It also depends on everyone's ability to earn points against other opponents. I cannot predict the final outcome right now, but based on the information I have, Borussia Dortmund will continue to perform consistently, and I wouldn't be surprised if Stuttgart maintains their form.
What is your reaction to Eberl's contract extension? How would you describe your collaboration with him?
Throughout the season, I won't publicly comment much on the contract extensions of my senior management, whether it's Freund or Eberl. However, regarding our collaboration, I have always been open and honest.
Eberl has gone through difficult times, and I have also encountered challenges. In such moments, we put aside distractions and fully dedicate ourselves to our work. When support is needed, we are honest with each other and mutually supportive.
I have always said that the working environment is crucial for a head coach. I am very fortunate that Bayern Munich provides an exceptionally good working environment for me, and this positive atmosphere is thanks to both Eberl and Freund.
Indeed, when we face difficulties, we don't just passively defend. Instead, we learn from them, find ways to break through, and make the team stronger. Any organization with this capability will become increasingly powerful.
The world of football is not always smooth sailing, and I have experienced this during my time coaching at Bayern Munich. To have such a working environment, as a head coach, I feel extremely fortunate.
How is Musiala doing recently? How did he feel in training this week? When do you plan to bring him back to the match squad?
Overall, he's in good shape. Today, he completed a full training session with the team, but he will not be in the match squad for tomorrow's game against Stuttgart. He is currently in the advanced stage of medical treatment, and his body is responding well. After this, he can return to the squad and participate in matches normally. All current medical decisions are made in consultation with our team of medical experts, and his recovery is currently progressing well.
