Inter to Prioritize Dimarco’s Contract Extension
First is Dimarco. The Serie A champion’s contract nominally expires in 2027, but Inter hold the unilateral right to extend it for another year. Therefore, the Nerazzurri are not currently concerned about the situation, though the club is aware that the player has been awaiting a call from management. Dimarco is ready to discuss a longer-term deal and hopes for a corresponding salary increase, potentially rising from 4 million euros to 5 million euros per year. He believes such treatment would reflect his significant contribution to Inter’s 21st Serie A title. Inter have already factored these circumstances into their plans and expect progress in the fall to finalize the extension as soon as possible. Dimarco remains calm and focused on his performances, fully aware of his central role in the reigning champions’ tactical system and the strong bond he shares with the team.
The Importance of Carlos Augusto
The situation with Carlos Augusto is different. Negotiations between the Brazilian’s representatives and Inter have been ongoing for several months, but no agreement has yet been reached on an extension. Carlos Augusto’s contract expires in 2028, and Inter are prepared to increase his annual salary to approximately 3 million euros, allowing him to benefit from the tax advantages of the Growth Decree.
However, this hinges on the former Monza player accepting a backup role. With Bastoni and Dimarco ahead of him in the pecking order on both flanks, he can only expect limited playing time, but Chivu still regards his reliability as an indispensable asset.
