Deeney fears that Arteta is running out of patience with Arsenal striker Gyokeres.

Gyokeres was benched for the first two Premier League matches and did not play until he came on as a substitute in Sunday's match against Chelsea, where he delivered a performance riddled with errors.

"Look at his highlights [against Chelsea], oh my goodness," Deeney said in disbelief on the show. "It was like a horse trying to control the ball.

This is a problem with the player's own ability. He will be credited for his active runs, but many times the ball will bounce straight off him when it reaches his feet.

Many times when the team counters, his first touch is too heavy. I can understand why the club wants to replace him.

He was brought in to provide another attacking option. But if I were the coach now, I have Havertz, who can link up play and perform well in all aspects, and Merino can also do this kind of work.

I think Arteta, seeing him perform in training, would be thinking, 'How exactly am I supposed to use this player?'

He is already 27 or 28 years old, and at this age, it is difficult for his tactical understanding and technical ability to improve significantly."

"This is also why the club wanted to let him go and bring in Alvarez, and he was consequently linked with multiple transfer deals. The club needs to manage his emotions, and he will still get some playing opportunities during the season."

While Gyokeres continues to show flashes of brilliance but struggles to produce substantial output, Havertz's form continues to improve. His performance against Chelsea greatly pleased the coach and earned high praise from Arteta.
