Scott joined AFC Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for £25 million, with his current contract running until summer 2028. Chelsea's £64 million offer this summer was rejected outright by AFC Bournemouth. Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the midfielder closely. AFC Bournemouth's sporting director has made clear that Scott is not for sale, as the club needs him as a cornerstone for their squad as they prepare to compete in the Europa League next season.

Danny Murphy stated on the show: "AFC Bournemouth is holding firm at an £80 million asking price and will not sell him this season no matter what. But the contract clock is ticking, and if contract extension negotiations continue to stall, next summer will be the most realistic selling window."

Murphy believes that Scott possesses excellent ball-carrying and distribution abilities, and has already caught the attention of renowned managers such as Guardiola and Tuchel, establishing him as one of England's most promising young midfielders. Once he enters the final 12 months of his contract next summer, AFC Bournemouth will be in a weaker negotiating position with top clubs. talkSPORT's report also noted that the player himself has already rejected the club's contract extension offer. AFC Bournemouth still hopes to complete a contract extension and include a release clause to avoid being forced into a low-price sale next year.
