According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, former Milan defender Costacurta expressed confidence in Amorim's ability to coach Milan.

Costacurta said: "Amorim said the team didn't deserve to win against Juventus? I agree with him. That match certainly didn't meet expectations. But honestly, I still have confidence: I saw something. I saw them trying to be different, trying to break out of the stalemate of the past two or three years. First of all, you can see it from the coach's attitude: he is full of positive energy, and I like the way he talks to the team, the outside world, and even to us. I like him as a person. I have studied him: I watched his games when he coached Sporting CP, whether at home against Benfica or away against Porto. He was always like this."
He continued: "I played football for 40 years, and I remember—and want to remind Milan fans—what the first three months after Sacchi took over were like. It takes time to digest such a big change. I see typical problems in team building at Milan: a team that doesn't play well technically but has a good attitude. I'm not just looking at individual players and technical performance, but at the performance of the entire team. All 11 players are running and fighting, and perhaps, like two days ago, all 11 players will make mistakes. But I like to see them trying to do what is required, and from here, they will only improve their level."
