In a recent La Liga match, Valencia suffered a humiliating 0-5 home defeat to Barcelona.

After being substituted off, Barcelona midfielder Rodri was caught on camera repeatedly telling his teammates that Valencia was "too weak," "horrible," "terrible," and "couldn't even get past midfield." The comments were picked up by television microphones.
Following the incident, El Desmarque interviewed Valencia fans on the street to get their reactions to Rodri's remarks.

A fan wearing a Gijón shirt, but identifying as a true Valencia supporter, said: "I agree with Rodri because I'm a genuine Valencia fan, and I believe all Valencia supporters are heartbroken by the club's current state. The owner refuses to invest, the team is terrible, we need change, and we need it now. Rodri is the best midfielder in the world, and we must respect what he says."

A female fan said: "Rodri's comments show a lack of respect for Valencia's players and fans, and the players will certainly be affected by what he said. However, looking at it purely from a factual standpoint, I think he's completely right. There's nothing more to say."

An older fan said: "Rodri is right, it's the truth. He should say it directly to our CEO Gurley, especially while Gurley is still boasting about his 'great transfer deals.'"

A bald fan said: "As a Valencia supporter, I think Rodri is partly right. While I don't necessarily agree with how he said it, I understand his point. After all, Valencia's situation really isn't looking good. What Rodri said was somewhat harsh, but I can somewhat understand it."

Another fan said: "Nobody wants to hear criticism of their own club, let alone from a player of a rival team. But we shouldn't take things out of context. After all, what he said is really the truth."
