According to Brazilian media outlet TMC, Olympique Marseille defender Emerson has pledged to sign a pre-contract with Santos at the end of the year. His contract with Olympique Marseille expires in June 2027, and he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with Santos starting at the end of 2026.

Following Everton's arrival, Santos has begun pursuing new signings during the transfer window. Emerson, currently playing for Olympique Marseille, is one of Santos' targets. The full-back has not been released by the French club, but has pledged to sign a pre-contract with Santos by the end of this year.

Emerson's contract with Olympique Marseille runs until the end of June 2027, so by the end of 2026, he will have only six months remaining on his contract, at which point the player will be eligible to sign with any other club.

Last season, Emerson made 37 appearances with no goals, 3 assists, and 5 disciplinary cards, including 4 yellow cards and 1 red card.

A product of the Santos youth academy, Emerson made 33 appearances for Santos between 2011 and 2014. He has since represented the Italian national team while playing for Chelsea, West Ham United, and Olympique Marseille.
