On September 13, in a local time interview with France Football, PSG player Kvaratskhelia shared insights about his personal life, goals, and the Ballon d'Or.

How important is family in maintaining balance in your personal life?
Kvaratskhelia: There are difficult moments in a footballer's life, and sometimes you feel a bit of pressure. Family is the most important thing; it brings happiness and helps you remain true to yourself.
My family has helped me overcome difficulties and obstacles, helps me move forward and relieve stress. I'm truly proud that they can be by my side. They're wonderful.
Now that I'm a father, I try to spend as much time as possible with my son (Damiane, 2 years old). My son loves playing football, and I train with him.
Is winning the first title harder or maintaining a leading position?
Kvaratskhelia: Maintaining a title is particularly difficult. When you love football, you know winning is never easy. But maintaining that level is even harder.
I really love PSG; whatever match they face, they are hungry and always want to win. With a team like that, everything is possible. If we can maintain this hunger to win, we can win everything.
You watched the World Cup on television because Georgia didn't qualify. What are your thoughts on that?
Kvaratskhelia: This World Cup is very interesting, but it's also bittersweet because I wish I could be there with my national team. It's hard to accept not being able to participate in the World Cup and having to wait another four years. In football, some things can't be changed, but we must do our best to ensure Georgia can participate in the World Cup final round someday.
This year, all the other Ballon d'Or nominees participated in the World Cup. Do you think you can win the Ballon d'Or without participating in the World Cup?
Kvaratskhelia: That doesn't depend on me; it depends on all the voters. Being shortlisted is already a real joy. It means my performances have convinced them that I can be a truly strong candidate and compete with those outstanding players.
I'm really proud of this. In life and in football, I believe everything is possible. That's why I can be at PSG now. I will do my best, both now and in the future.
You ranked 17th for the 2023 Ballon d'Or when playing for Napoli, and 12th last year. What is your goal for this year?
Kvaratskhelia: My personal success is to be a player fully committed to my team. Of course, individual awards are also important. But for me, what matters most is being a team player and contributing to the final victory. So I just try to train hard, try to help the team, and take pride in that.
Football legends like Kroos and Platini have recently publicly supported you to win the next Ballon d'Or. What do you think about their comments?
Kvaratskhelia: When players like that, such football legends, say I deserve this award, it's a blessing. Even if only one person in the world thinks Kvaratskhelia deserves such an important award, that would already be a blessing for me. I'm really proud of this. It means I'm doing my job well, and I just want to continue improving at this level. Let's see what life brings me.
