In the 3rd round of the DFB-Pokal, Bayern Munich defeated SV Elversberg 2-1 away. The 21-year-old Krätenmacher came on as a substitute and scored a spectacular goal, temporarily equalizing for Elversberg.

After the match, Bayern Munich coach Kompany embraced Krätenmacher, who scored the goal. Krätenmacher said: "He congratulated me on the goal and wished me all the best for the entire season."

Krätenmacher previously played for Bayern Munich's youth academy. This summer, he transferred to newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Elversberg for 2 million euros. In 3 Bundesliga appearances totaling 96 minutes, he has already scored 3 goals. Last summer, Krätenmacher was included in Bayern Munich's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.
According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich included a buy-back clause in Krätenmacher's transfer.
