Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer slammed his former club's 1-4 defeat to Leeds United, calling the team's first half performance "an absolute disaster."

The Magpies legend was furious after seeing Newcastle concede two goals in two minutes just over half an hour into the match. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored another goal before halftime, further frustrating Shearer.

"The Magpies' performance was an absolute disaster. Losing 0-3 at halftime is shameful," Shearer angrily wrote on social media at halftime.

Newcastle United's situation deteriorated further in the 59th minute when Okafor scored Leeds United's fourth goal with a spectacular left-footed strike, securing the victory. Newcastle's summer signing Bazouma Toure then scored a consolation goal.

Before this match at Elland Road, both teams had made strong starts to the season, with Newcastle previously unbeaten.

Newcastle United, with 5 points from their first four matches, dropped to 12th place; Leeds United, with two wins and two draws, rose to 3rd place.
