According to Spanish media Cadena SER, Andres Inieta will play for Japanese side Vissel Kobe next season, rather than the widely reported Chinese side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.

It is reported by Cadena SER that the CEO of Rakuten, Barca's shirt sponsor, has been personally conducting the deal, which will see the Barca star sign a 3-year contract at Japan.

No sooner had Iniesta announced his decision to leave Barca at the end of the season on April 28th than reports claiming he would be heading to the Far East to join Chinese Super League club Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.

However it now takes a turn. Earlier today Chongqing released a statement saying that Iniesta would be sign for them as a player, as they have struck only a business relationship.

And now Cadena SER reveals that Barcelona have been helping Iniesta to finish the deal with the Japanese side, as both parties have agreed to a 3-year deal worth €25m a year.

What is more, Vissel Kobe will allow Iniesta to bring his own team and construct a La Masia-like academy in Japan as part of the deal.
