Ter Stegen: I'm in great shape, want to bring Ajax back to Europe's elite

On August 4th, Ajax officially announced the loan of Ter Stegen from Barcelona for one season. Afterward, the German goalkeeper was interviewed by the club's official media and spoke about his expectations.

The transfer is finally complete.

"Good things take time, but thankfully everything went smoothly in the end. I'm very happy to be here."

Why did you choose to accept Ajax's offer?

"The first time I communicated with Jordi Cruyff, I immediately realized this was the best option for me. I know coach Michel and Blind, and I had in-depth discussions with them about the team's plans. The plan they presented was very convincing."

What are your goals?

"We want to bring Ajax back to the top tier of Europe. This is a prestigious club with a rich history and global reputation. I believe we can have an excellent season."

How is your physical condition?

"I rejoined training at Barcelona later than Ajax's training camp, but I've been training systematically since July 2nd. I'm in great physical condition now and can play on the field without any hindrance, enjoying the game. I'm very confident about that."

"He has excellent skills and a good character. If we continue to bring in such quality players while retaining our core players, the prospects for the new season are very bright."
