AFC Bournemouth officially announced that the club has signed Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez.

AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of right-back Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla.

The 22-year-old has made over 100 first-team appearances for the La Liga club, bringing a wealth of experience.

The talented defender has played in Europe's top club competitions, making six appearances in the Champions League. He also played for Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup against Manchester City following the team's triumph in the 2022-23 Europa League.

In 2024, Juanlu shone on the international stage, helping Spain win the gold medal in men's football at the Paris Olympics.

On the way to gold, the Spanish defender scored the crucial winning goal in Spain's 2-1 semi-final victory over Morocco. The team then defeated host nation France in the final at Parc des Princes to claim the title.

In the Olympic final, Juanlu directly faced several French stars, including AFC Bournemouth's left-back Adrien Truffert.

Sanchez is another summer window signing for Andoni Iraola's team ahead of the 2026-27 season, following the arrival of Antonio Silva to strengthen the defence.
