Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock stated on the show that he believes his old club should not let Gakpo leave.

In recent weeks, Gakpo has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, and both Tottenham Hotspur and De Zerbi have shown clear interest in him. However, former Liverpool left-back Warnock does not think letting the Dutch star go is a suitable option.
Warnock said: "To be honest, I would want to keep him. I know many people say he is one-dimensional, but I think it's important for a player to be able to come off the bench, score those goals, and make an impact in the game. He himself might have other ideas, like wanting to play more first-team games. But Liverpool currently doesn't have enough players, and the squad depth is not sufficient. So why would you let a player go? Is it to balance the books? Or because money was spent last year, and now you want to reinvest it in the squad? I think this squad looks thin and still lacks players. As the season progresses, there will be the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup, and you must have more available players and be able to change the game through tactical adjustments."
"Gakpo's advantage is that he can play as a center forward, or on the left or right wing. I think he is acceptable in these positions, and having such a player in the squad is a great asset. You know you have that flexibility with him; he is strong and impactful. If you need someone in midfield, and there is a shortage there, you even have the option of playing him in that position. To be completely honest, unless you already have one or two new signings coming in, I wouldn't really want to let him go."
