On August 20, according to James Pearce, TA's Liverpool correspondent, Liverpool's £50 million bid for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh was rejected.

TA reports that Brighton & Hove Albion rejected Liverpool's £50 million bid for winger Yankuba Minteh. The 22-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on his right leg, an injury sustained earlier this month in Brighton & Hove Albion's 3-0 home friendly victory over Roma.
Minteh is also expected to be out for another 8 weeks. However, sources familiar with the situation said that Minteh would be willing to consider a potential transfer if the two clubs could agree on a transfer fee. The Gambian international's contract runs until 2029, and he is one of several wingers Liverpool is monitoring.
Since joining Brighton & Hove Albion from Newcastle for £30 million in the summer of 2024, Minteh has contributed 9 goals and 8 assists in 66 Premier League appearances. He has mostly played as a right winger, but has also filled in at left wing when Japanese international Kaoru Mitoma was unavailable.
Liverpool's interest in Minteh comes as Manchester United renews its focus on signing Brighton & Hove Albion's Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba. The Athletic revealed on Wednesday that the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement for Baleba's transfer. Manchester United made a bid of approximately £60 million plus £5 million in add-ons, but this was considered to be below Brighton & Hove Albion's asking price.
