Arsenal

Arsenal will not give up on the signing of Julian Alvarez right until the end but, with his heart set on a move to Barcelona and Atletico refusing to sell to them, it still looks unlikely to happen at this stage.

Everyone is waiting to see if Alvarez changes his stance and opens up to the idea, but if he doesn't, Arsenal are happy with their squad and won't just pivot to any other forward. They want top quality only.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal are trying to sign Gabriel Martinelli and the player is understood to be seriously considering a move to Saudi. Ethan Nwaneri could depart on loan while Arsenal are understood to be willing to listen to offers for Gabriel Jesus.

Mikel Arteta has ruled out the possibility of Myles Lewis-Skelly or Martin Zubimendi leaving.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa face a busy final week with more potential ins and outs in a summer of upheaval. They are working on forward options, a new midfielder and a replacement for Ezri Konsa at the back.

Most recently, they have made approaches for forwards Jean Philippe Mateta and Raphael Leao and have been in talks for defenders Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Joel Ordonez.

With Amadou Onana out and now new signing Joao Gomes suspended, Villa are close to signing free agent Leon Goretzka to strengthen the midfield.

Up front, Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea is also another option if they lose Ollie Watkins to Al Hilal.

Emi Martinez's future is still uncertain after Villa signed Zion Suzuki in goal before the Argentina star had found another club to go to.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth are expecting the signing of Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio to be their final transfer of the summer. He has joined on a season-long loan which includes an option to buy at £12m.

As ever, Bournemouth are still open to a market opportunity should one arise in the final days of the window.

There is a possibility that their resolve is tested by a big bid for Alex Scott from one of either Chelsea or Manchester City, depending on what happens with Enzo Fernandez's future.

However, Bournemouth do not want to sell and insist they are under no pressure to do so. The midfielder has two years left on his current deal but has turned down the club's offer of a new one.

Brentford

Brentford are very happy with their squad and rightly so; they took Spurs to task on the opening day with a resounding 3-0 win.

The only area of the side they are still looking at is on the left, but only if they can be assured to add more quality; ergo market opportunities only. There is some flexibility on the profile too; it could be a left-back or left-winger.

They have been keen on West Ham's El Hadji Malick Diouf, who is primarily a left-back, which would allow Keane Lewis-Potter to operate further forward more regularly. But he is one of four left-back options at the club including Rico Henry, Jayden Meghoma and Aaron Hickey, so they are not desperate.

Meghoma could be one of several who go on loan.

Brighton

Brighton have work to do with Yankuba Minteh attracting strong interest from Liverpool and Carlos Baleba joining Manchester United.

They are working on a deal for BSC Young Boys left-back Jaouen Hadjam with Maxim De Cuyper starting the season playing further forward.

Brighton are also exploring a potential deal for Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez but face competition from Hull City among others.

They could also sign another midfielder, with Baleba - and potentially Matt O'Riley - leaving. O'Reilly has interest from Lyon and other top European clubs having recovered from an illness.

Brighton would consider offers for Evan Ferguson and Igor Julio if they arrive.

Chelsea

The only first-team position that could see a change in is midfield. Manchester City are interested in Enzo Fernandez and, if he leaves, Alex Scott and Adam Wharton are among the players Chelsea are expected to have a serious look at.

The remaining business will be all outgoings, with as many as nine players leaving Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa are expected to move for Nicolas Jackson if Ollie Watkins goes to Al Hilal, while Liam Delap is edging closer to joining Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea no longer see Leeds as a loan destination for Mykhailo Mudryk, amid interest from sister club Strasbourg, while Hull want Dario Essugo but Strasbourg could also be a destination for the young midfielder.

Tosin has multiple interest from abroad and fellow centre-back Axel Disasi is close to signing for Crystal Palace.

Coventry

Coventry are hoping to wrap up their summer business with two more signings before they are next in Premier League action against fellow promoted side Hull City on Saturday.

They want to bring in a left-back and a centre-back before the deadline, having already added 10 players to Frank Lampard's squad in the hope of securing Premier League survival.

Coventry have already agreed a deal with Brentford to sign Ethan Pinnock. The centre-back is expected to have a medical this week ahead of completing a transfer understood to be worth up to £6m.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are set to complete the signing of Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea as a replacement for Maxence Lacroix but are yet to find a successor to Marc Guehi and could sign another centre-back.

Palace have been exploring options to reinforce out wide. Free agent Solly March is one they have been working towards after his Brighton exit.

There are question marks over three of Palace's most key players, Daniel Munoz, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr, in the final week.

Sarr has reported interest from Galatasaray, but suggestions the winger is refusing to train are wide of the mark. He is currently injured.

Aston Villa have made an approach for Mateta, who has entered the final year of his deal. He was close to leaving six months ago for AC Milan. Munoz has interest from a number of clubs, including Everton.

Everton

David Moyes still wants a right-back and a potential change among his centre-forwards, as well as maybe another winger.

He wants Strasbourg's Guela Doue but the price is prohibitive, while others he likes are RB Leipzig's Ridle Baku and Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz.

Everton face a similar situation with Liam Delap, but Nottingham Forest are currently ahead of them in the race to sign the Chelsea striker. Beto has interest from Fiorentina so it remains to be seen if some movement happens there.

There is still a chance Jack Grealish returns after his loan spell last season but he was in Manchester City's squad at the weekend as they try to get more bodies in themselves.

Fulham

Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa has said he wants more business to be done as he looks to bring balance to his squad. They seem to be prioritising a new right-back at the moment while they are yet to replace Harry Wilson and Issa Diop with a new winger or centre-back.

Talks have been held with Rennes over a deal for 20-year-old Morocco international centre-back Abdelhamid Ait-Boudlal but the French club appear reluctant to sell.

Summer signing Gonzalo Garcia appears to be Arbeloa's favoured striker so will the returning Rodrio Muniz be happy with that, or does there need to be a change among the back-up strikers? Let's see.

Hull

Hull City are expecting to be busy in the final week of the window and are looking to bring in at least five more players before the deadline.

The promoted side are close to reaching an agreement to sign centre-forward Ilyas Ansah from Union Berlin and they are in talks with Deportivo La Coruna for winger Yeremay Hernandez.

Hull are also putting the finishing touches to an agreement with Nice for forward Mohamed-Ali Cho in a deal worth in the region of £15m and are still in the race to sign Stoke winger Sorba Thomas. Meanwhile, they have an interest in Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo, too.

Several squad players could leave the MKM Stadium before September 1.

Ipswich

Ipswich remain in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for midfielder Exequiel Palacios, after a bid was rejected last week.

They are looking to strengthen further in attack and midfield, with options also being explored for more depth at centre-forward. Ipswich are thought to be one of the clubs who like Burnley's Zian Flemming.

Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a straight loan deal with Ipswich to sign striker Ali Al-Hamadi. He is one of several players that could leave before the deadline and could mean another forward option is brought into Portman Road.

Wrexham are in talks to sign Anis Mehmeti, while Chiedozie Ogbene, Cameron Humphreys and Alex Palmer also have interest from elsewhere.

Leeds

Leeds will only do more if they can genuinely improve Daniel Farke's squad.

Checks have been made on Conrad Harder's availability at RB Leipzig, but club sources are playing down the chances of adding a striker.

Their strong interest in Mykhailo Mudryk remains despite doubts around Chelsea's willingness to do a deal with Leeds amid interest from Strasbourg.

Gabriel Gudmundsson's injury has highlighted the need for Leeds to sign full-back cover. As things stand, that also looks difficult to do.

Leeds are lining up Eintracht Frankfurt's Michael Zetterer to be the back-up goalkeeper, but a deal cannot proceed until Frankfurt land a new No 1. If Zetterer comes in, Lucas Perri can go to Torino.

Meanwhile, Mateo Joseph and Largie Ramazani are searching for new clubs.

Liverpool

Liverpool's priority, as it has been throughout the summer, is still to reinforce in wide areas.

They have been pursuing PSG duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, while Brighton have also rejected two Liverpool offers for Yankuba Minteh, the latest being £60m.

PSG's valuation of £145m has been a stumbling block but Liverpool are currently the only club chasing the forward, who has entered the final two years of his deal and has grown dissatisfied with his role in the team.

Liverpool do not want to sell Cody Gakpo amid interest from Tottenham and Manchester City and would likely need two new wingers in before considering letting the Dutchman go.

Man City

Manchester City look like being one of the busiest clubs, in and out. Savio has joined Tottenham and Omar Marmoush is likely to follow if City can get bodies in the door. Palmeiras winger Allan is on his way over, while they also like Spurs target Cody Gakpo at Liverpool.

With another midfielder in Nico Gonzalez getting closer to Newcastle, City will sign a replacement and are interested in Enzo Fernandez, Alex Scott and Manu Kone.

City have been after a back-up striker all summer with interest in Junior Kroupi, but he is out injured until around October.

Man Utd

Manchester United are still on the search for a left-back but will only act if the right player becomes available. It is possible Carlos Baleba could be the club's last signing of the window.

As it stands, potential deals for Lewis Hall and Myles Lewis-Skelly look unlikely. Alejandro Balde has been mooted as an option with Barcelona willing to let him go. United are aware of his situation but have not actively been pursuing him.

United could wait until next summer to pursue their defensive targets rather than look for a stopgap option as they did with the midfield a year ago.

Further incomings are unlikely. Interest from Italy for Joshua Zirkzee has not progressed and he is currently likely to stay, as is Marcus Rashford, who was given the club's No 9 shirt for the season.

Newcastle

Newcastle are working on potentially signing a midfielder, wide forward and a striker before the window closes.

A deal to sign Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City is understood to be advancing and there is hope an agreement can be struck this week with head coach Matthias Jaissle keen to add experience in the midfield.

Joe Willock's impressive performance in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool could see him stay at Newcastle in this window despite strong interest from Besiktas.

Nick Pope could depart with his replacements already through the door, while Jacob Murphy also has interest from Everton.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are working hard to bring in Liam Delap from Chelsea to improve their striking options following Taiwo Awoniyi's £9m move to Coventry.

They have been pursuing Lucas Bergvall as an Elliot Anderson replacement, but Roberto De Zerbi insists he is staying at Spurs.

Forest could also add a right wing-back with Dodo at Fiorentina a player of interest.

Dilane Bakwa is set to join Lille on loan, while centre-backs Zach Abbott and Tyler Bindon could also depart on temporary moves amid interest from Watford.

Sunderland

Sunderland are expected to be busy and could bring in three more signings with a centre-back, winger and striker on the agenda.

They are keen on Sporting winger Geny Catamo, but that would likely be an expensive deal to do.

Jason Seelt is likely to go out on loan once a new contract is agreed. Udinese have been in contact with Sunderland, while Monza are also keen along with clubs in the Championship and Bundesliga.

Tottenham

Tottenham have spent north of £300m but still hope to sign two more forward players.

Spurs are close to agreeing a deal to sign Omar Marmoush from Man City and are also interested in Liverpool's Cody Gakpo. Pedro Neto is an alternative target but he is valued at close to £100m by Chelsea.

Spurs could see Pape Matar Sarr and Richarlison depart before the window closes, while Lucas Bergvall is now expected to stay at Spurs, according to Roberto De Zerbi.
