Arteta praised the Brentford coaching staff ahead of Thursday's trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, and also spoke about Gyökeres.

The Bees lost their head coach, captain, and a number of key players last summer, but have had a memorable season under new boss Keith Andrews and sat in seventh place ahead of this West London derby.

"It's another difficult game," Arteta said, looking ahead to the latest London derby. "We know Brentford's home form and their recent results, and the coaching staff has done a fantastic job. So credit to them, because they are a top team."

Brentford have beaten Aston Villa and Newcastle United away, and at home, they have lost only two games this season.

The player who continues to impress is Gyökeres. The Swedish striker won the team's Player of the Month award for January and started February in style, scoring a brace in the 3-0 win over Sunderland.

When asked if anything had changed with Gyökeres, Arteta said: "Not much has changed. His work ethic is still the same. I think it's probably his energy and confidence that are increasing. When you start scoring and assisting goals consistently, you start to believe that such performances will happen more frequently and with a higher probability."

"Also, there's his physical condition. I feel that after his injury, the few games before his injury were probably among his best, or his best two or three games."

"When he got back to full fitness, was available, got into training, and played a few good games in a row, I think everything just clicked, and now it's all finally coming together."
