According to Corriere dello Sport, Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi clashed with Roma sporting director Tony D'Amico after Roma defeated Atalanta 2-1.

The winning goal was scored by Soule in the final moments of injury time. After the final whistle, the atmosphere on the field was tense, and Gaetano was sent off for protesting. According to Sarri's post-match statements, whether Gaetano actually protested remains debatable.

Corriere dello Sport reported that after the final whistle, Percassi, who is also the club's vice president, immediately confronted D'Amico and verbally abused him. D'Amico left Atalanta this summer to become Roma's sporting director.

D'Amico did not respond, but Percassi followed him all the way to the parking lot in front of the Monte Mario grandstand entrance, where security personnel then intervened and defused the situation. Roma's unofficial statement deemed Percassi's behaviour unacceptable, and the club will protect D'Amico's rights through appropriate channels.
