Gonçalo Ramos insists he feels no pressure from being Milan's most expensive signing in club history.

Tomorrow night, Ramos will face his former club Benfica, and he is reportedly set to start again as Amorim's main striker. Compared to his previous two starts, he hopes to be more involved in the attack – he managed only one shot each against Juventus and Lazio in those games.

The Portuguese forward arrived at Milanello this summer with high expectations, as he was the club's most expensive signing ever, with Milan spending over 70 million euros to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain.

In an interview with UEFA TV before the match, the 25-year-old discussed why he chose Milan, what he learned at Paris Saint-Germain, pressure, and more.

You've just started a new journey at Milan. What made you choose this club? Was it the history, the teammates, the project, or the coach's style?

"The size of Milan is certainly important, but the coach's football philosophy and the club's plans for the next few years are equally important to me. I feel that Milan believes in me and wants me to be part of the team: that's one of the main reasons I chose to come here."

You mentioned the coach, who is Portuguese, like you. What has it been like working with him these past months?

"Very positive, and in a way also easy, because we have similar understandings of football. We both speak Portuguese, which also helps us understand each other better and convey messages to the team more easily. I think this will be an important factor during the season."

Does wearing the Milan number 9 shirt, a shirt with legendary history, bring special responsibility?

"This shirt carries a lot of weight, but most importantly, I'm proud to wear it. The club entrusting me with such a legendary shirt shows their great confidence in me. It's a huge responsibility that I will face with pride and determination, doing my best to represent Milan well."

Milan has nurtured many legendary strikers. Did you watch players like Inzaghi, Shevchenko, and Crespo when you were young? Who are your main idols?

"I know these great strikers, but the player I've followed the most throughout my career and consider my biggest inspiration is Ibrahimović.

"I've always admired him and tried to imitate some of his moves on the field. He is my role model, and the fact that he played for Milan makes it even more special."

You are also known for scoring crucial goals, such as the first penalty in the Champions League final. Is mental fortitude one of your strongest traits?

"Yes, I think so. Being ready and trusting in my training and abilities is one of my strengths. Such things have happened many times; it can't just be luck.

"I feel this is my characteristic, and what people expect from me: to have a strong mentality and never give up. I hope I can help the team by scoring more crucial goals, perhaps even in the last minute."

You won many trophies during your two years at Paris Saint-Germain. What is the most important lesson you learned there that you hope to bring to Milan?

"Both on and off the field, I learned a lot from coach Enrique and some world-class players at Paris Saint-Germain. What I can bring here is part of what I learned from them – trying to instill the same winning mentality in the team and helping the team with this mindset.

"We want to win; we are not just here to play: we want to win every competition. I came here to bring that hunger and try to instill the winning mentality that I believe I possess."

Speaking of great players, you met Modrić at Milan. What was your first impression of playing with him?

"It's hard to describe him in words: he is truly a very special player. After training and playing with him, I told everyone that he is even more special than I imagined. His ability is incredible, and his entire career shows what he means to football.

"It's an honor to have him as part of the team and in the locker room: we learn from him every day and enjoy everything he brings to the team."

What are your goals for this season in the league and the Europa League? Milan has deep European DNA: how important is it for you to be a key player in European competitions?

"I think we have the ability to win every competition we participate in, but we have to take it step by step, focus on each game, and not think too far ahead.

"We will forge our own path, build confidence, and continue to work hard: this could be a very positive season, and we can end it with a smile."
