Serie C side Alessandria have a new positive COVID-19 case, as defender Francesco Cosenza confirmed he has the virus.

It should not have any effect on the football, as Serie C clubs voted to end the season early due to the pandemic and are just waiting for confirmation from the FIGC.
Cosenza confirmed the news he had tested positive in an Instagram video post, with the heading: ‘NO PANIC’
“I want to confirm that I tested positive for coronavirus after the swab taken on May 5. I say this to reassure people and prevent any panic.
“My family and I were in quarantine from March 8, we went outside the region from April 25 due to justified reasons, we told the authorities that we were making this journey.
“I want to make clear that I volunteered to take the test, nobody forced me, and we were informed yesterday that I tested positive. I did not go to any supermarket or shop, from May 5 onwards I indirectly and by following the rules saw some of my family members.
“What leaves me perplexed is that if I had not performed the test, I would’ve been a free man to walk around, as my quarantine would’ve finished today. Can you imagine how many people like me were walking around positive and not realising it?”
