Manchester United officially announced that JJ-Gabriel has won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award for the 2025/26 season.

Manchester United wrote: "The 15-year-old became the youngest ever recipient of this prestigious award in the history of the Manchester United Academy. He performed brilliantly throughout the season, breaking the record held by Gomes, who was only 16 years and 8 months old when he won the award in 2017.
"The team's top scorer found the net in the FA Youth Cup matches against Peterborough United and Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, as well as in the away game against Oxford United, and also shone in the U18 Premier League.
"On Thursday night, he represented Darren Fletcher's squad in the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City at Joie Stadium.
"On Tuesday night, JJ-Gabriel was also named the inaugural U18 Premier League Player of the Season. He had many highlights in the league this season, including a hat-trick in the 7-0 away win against Liverpool last November, and a brace in the return leg against Liverpool at Carrington last month. The forward follows in the footsteps of Manchester United legends who have also won this award, including Norman Whiteside, Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wes Brown, Rashford, and Mainoo. Last season's Jimmy Murphy Award winner was defender Harry Amass. Congratulations to JJ on this well-deserved honor!"
