On August 3, according to the Manchester Evening News, Rayan Aït-Nouri is looking forward to showing more of himself at Manchester City next season, admitting he was not satisfied with his first season at the Etihad.

Like his Algerian teammate Mahrez, Aït-Nouri has just returned from the World Cup with the team and is a passionate player. He finds it difficult to truly enjoy the game if he cannot contribute on the field. However, he still contributed to the team winning two trophies, and he has channeled his disappointment over insufficient playing time into motivation for the new season.

"I'm not too happy because I could have done more," he said. "At first I was injured, then I tried to come back and tried to give everything for this team, for this jersey, which was difficult."

"The most important thing is the team. Last year we won two trophies, which was also a great experience, and we trained with this coach. It's great for me and the team, and I'm happy to be a part of this team."

Almost half of Aït-Nouri's starts last season came during a continuous nine-game stretch from January to March, and he also played a role in key victories at Anfield, St. James' Park, and Elland Road. He was also named in the starting lineup for the Champions League last-16 first leg away to Real Madrid.

After proving himself during that period, Aït-Nouri hopes to perform even better under new coach Enzo Maresca and aims to start the season without any surprises. He smiled in Hong Kong as he spoke in detail about how he felt returning to the Manchester City training camp.

"The training sessions look very good, I really enjoy training with this coach, we'll wait and see. I'm happy to be here," he said.

"I am very confident, I want to show everyone what I can do on the field. I have shown it before, and I hope to continue to prove myself this season. I am very, very much looking forward to the start of the season and to being here. I am very happy."
