According to Sport, Pedri, in an interview with Canary TV, looked back on his football beginnings, joining Barcelona, and his experiences since, also speaking about his family who have always been by his side.

Football entered his life at a very young age, and it was his father who passed on his love for the sport, taking him to the pitch when he was still a child. Pedri recalls that he was already playing football with his brother at the age of four or five, and after school, he had only one thought: "Since I can remember, I've been inseparable from the ball. My father brought me up with it when I was little; he always took me to the pitch to play."

His parents also always emphasized that if he wanted to become a professional player, he had to train hard and not just rely on talent. Pedri admits that his family always made him believe in his abilities, but they were also very clear when he was a child: "My family always told me to believe in myself, to train, that I could become a professional player. They said I had talent, but they also always told me that I had to work hard, otherwise I wouldn't get there at all. If you don't work hard, it's over."

When Barcelona offered him a contract, his father again played a crucial role. After speaking with his agent, his father told him that several clubs were interested in him, but he started with the one that would excite him the most: "Several teams are interested in you, but as soon as I say one of them, you won't let me continue." When he heard the name Barcelona, Pedri didn't need to know anything else because he knew exactly which club he wanted to play for.

In fact, even the interest from other teams couldn't change his mind, because in his heart, Barcelona always came first: "While listening to what they were saying, I was thinking in my heart that Barcelona was where I wanted to stay." His relationship with the club was far more than just playing there later; the club had long been a part of his childhood: "For me, Barcelona is the best place. It's everything I experienced as a child, everything I dreamed of, and I wouldn't change that for anything now."

His father and brother are still among the people he is most willing to listen to, especially when things are not going well on or off the field: "They are always by my side, telling me to calm down, to enjoy it all... They say I'm still young and must learn to grow, and that there are lessons to be learned from these mistakes, which is the most valuable thing."

He also hopes to share all his achievements with his family. When he first received his first football salary, his top priority was to make his parents feel at ease and enjoy the rewards of supporting him all these years: "The most important thing is that the money you earn is to make your parents more secure, so they don't have to work anymore, can relax, and enjoy life. To be able to give back a little of everything they've given you throughout their lives, that's the most beautiful thing."

Pedri also recalled giving his father his first big gift: "I remember using part of my first salary to buy my father a car in Tenerife because the family needed one." For the Canarian, being able to help his family is one of the most precious things football has given him.
